No reign, no gain.

And the Lord said to Samuel, "Heed the voice of the people in all that they say to you; for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them.

The Israelites decided to have a human reign their nation. What are we trying today? We don't want anyone to reign over us. Calling it Democracy, Freedom of Speech - while those are all good things - we often seem to miss the point: As a human you and I will need guidance, will need someone that is accepted to be wiser than we are. It's good in that sense to reject the oppression of a worldly government, if it leads us into the fear of God. On the other hand we always need guidance and some system to make progress and in the end gain something. So we may have to allow humans to reign too.
